RecipeScan: Save Any Recipe

Moving from Mealime? Bring your recipes.

RecipeScan keeps recipes you copy in — a website link, a photo, or a screenshot — then lets you scale them, plan a week, and shop. It does not hand you Mealime’s done-for-you menu.

Why RecipeScan

A place for the recipes you already cook

Mealime’s closing page does not mention an export. What moves is a copy you make yourself. RecipeScan is built to take that copy and keep it with everything else you cook from.

Links, photos, and screenshots

Paste a recipe website address, scan a screenshot or a cookbook page, or paste the ingredients and method. The same library also saves TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube from the iPhone share sheet.

A week and a grocery list

Put the recipes you imported on a weekly planner and build one grocery list from them. The list can skip what your pantry already has. You choose the meals.

Not Mealime’s weekly menu

If you want someone else to pick a balanced week, Meals Hub is where Mealime says those recipes continue. RecipeScan vs Mealime vs SideChef is the longer comparison.

How it works

Three steps, whether Mealime still opens

The same path works if you can still open Mealime, and if you are working from a link, screenshot, or text you already saved. The taps are in the migration guide.

1

Copy the recipe

Save a mealime.com recipe link, a screenshot of the ingredients and method, or the text. Mealime’s closing page does not mention an export.

2

Add it in RecipeScan

Paste a link (one recipe at a time), paste the text, or scan the screenshot. Read the quantities before you save.

3

Plan and shop

Scale the recipe, put it on the week, and build a grocery list from recipes you chose.

FAQ

Questions from a Mealime kitchen

Is RecipeScan a Mealime alternative?

It is an alternative when you want to keep recipes you already cook and collect more from a link, a photo, or a screenshot. It is not Mealime’s done-for-you weekly menu. For those plans, Mealime points people to Meals Hub. Mealime is discontinued as of 21 October 2026.

Can I import my Mealime account?

No. Mealime’s closing page does not mention an export, and RecipeScan does not sign in to Mealime. You copy each recipe yourself: a recipe-page link, a screenshot, or the text.

How do I get a Mealime recipe into RecipeScan?

Copy the public recipe page address, usually a mealime.com/recipes/ link, or a screenshot of the ingredients and method, or the text. In RecipeScan, paste the link or scan the screenshot. Check quantities, units, and oven temperatures after it lands.

What does RecipeScan cost?

The free plan keeps up to 3 recipes of your own. Scans and AI features are Premium: $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, with a free trial for eligible new subscribers.

Does RecipeScan work on Android?

No. RecipeScan is for iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later.

Will my Mealime meal plans come with me?

Mealime says personal data was deleted when the app shut down, and saved meal plans are not described as copying over. You place imported recipes on RecipeScan’s week yourself. Premium can auto-fill a week from your tastes. That is not Mealime’s curated menu.

The recipe catalogue is 1,600+. Full taps, including what to do when Mealime itself will not open: how to move Mealime recipes into RecipeScan.
